Until 2020 end, Turkish to immigrate to UK immediately by Ankara agreement (with official report)

According to the media reports from the UK and Turkey, the Turkish ambassador to London, Umit Yalcin, the British ambassador to Turkey, Sir Dominick Chilcott, and the British Chamber of Commerce Turkey made the following statements on the Ankara agreement between the UK and Turkey:

The British ambassador to Turkey, Sir Dominick Chilcott said at a meeting with Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association on February 7th, 2020:
“After the end of the transition period, the end of this year, we will be no more in the EU and we will no longer be a party for the Ankara Agreement. The provisions of the agreement will not apply to us. What we need to do is to find the right provisions to have in its place,”

“The position will not change until we have a new law. So the arrangement under the Ankara Agreement continues until the new law.”

Speaking to Anadolu agency, Turkish ambassador to London Umit Yalcin on February 5, 2020
"The effect of constant regulations regarding the Ankara Agreement will remain as they are until the end of Dec. 31, 2020,”

"After the transition period, the U.K. is expected to put in place a new point-based immigration system that would encourage talented and qualified migrants to come to the country from the beginning of 2021"

“Turkey would watch closely the trade deal negotiations between the U.K. and the EU during 2020. Our final aim is to see a free trade agreement signed between the U.K. and our country.”

The British Chamber of commerce Turkey also made an announcement:
"The Ankara Agreement will remain effective until the completion of the Transition Period, on the basis that UK is still obligated to comply with EU rules until 31st December 2020. In other words, Turkish citizens will still be able to apply for work visas under the provisions of the Ankara Agreement until this date and the applications of those who have already made their applications will be evaluated under the current laws in effect."

According to the Ankara agreement, Turkish citizens who establish business in the UK and meet the residence requirements are eligible to apply permanent residence after 5 years and become citizens after 6 years.
